# Set up your project

> Create a project and get the API key for sending traces to Radiant Platform.

## Create an account or sign in

Open [Radiant Platform](https://platform.radiantlabs.dev/) and sign in. If you do not have an account, create one from the sign-in page and verify your email address.

If you’re joining an existing team, ask an organization owner or admin to invite you. Open the invitation link, sign in with the email address that received it, and accept the invitation.

## Select or create a project

Choose your team’s organization, or create one if you’re setting up Radiant Platform for a new team. Each organization contains its projects and manages team access and billing.

Use separate projects to isolate environments. Each trace ingestion key is scoped to a single project. All organization members have access to every project in that organization.

### Set up a new organization

After signing in, complete the onboarding steps:

1. In **Organization**, enter a name for your team. Creating the organization makes you its owner.
2. In **Project**, name the application or environment you want to trace, such as `support-agent-development`.
3. In **Billing**, choose a plan and complete payment setup. The Free allowance also requires a saved payment card; see [Usage and billing](/docs/platform/administration/usage-and-billing.md) for the terms.
4. In **Connect**, create an API key and copy the **Traces endpoint** and key.

### Use an existing organization

Select your organization, then choose the project for your application from the project selector. If you need a new project, an organization owner or admin can create one from the same selector.

An owner or admin can create an ingestion key:

1. Open **Settings → Project settings → API keys**.
2. Choose **Create API key** and give it a name that identifies the application or environment using it.
3. Copy the **Traces endpoint** and the new key from the configuration shown after creation.

Save the key before closing the configuration: its secret cannot be displayed again. Store it alongside the traces endpoint in your application’s environment or secret manager.
